Wuhan looking for asymptomatic Coronavirus carriers.
On May 16, 2020, in Wuhan, China, the place where COVID-19 originated, 222,675 tests were carried out. These tests were done to find asymptomatic Coronavirus carriers.
Since Wuhan was released from lockdown on April 8, 2020, the first cluster of Novel Coronavirus infections was found in the place, last weekend.
Asymptomatic New Coronavirus carriers are those people who have been infected with the killer virus, but indicate no outward signs of the sickness.
Wuhan has 11 million residents and it is reported that these tests are being conducted on a voluntary basis.
On May 16, 2020, China reported 21 new Coronavirus infections, inclusive of 13 asymptomatic ones.
It was reported by China’s National Health Commission (NHC), that out of the 8 new confirmed Novel Coronavirus cases which were reported on Friday, 6 were imported infections.
The other 2 Coronavirus cases were domestically transmitted and were from the Jilin Province, which went into lockdown recently, after a cluster of New Coronavirus cases was reported here.
But the number of asymptomatic COVID-19 cases was reported to be on the increase in China.
China’s National Health Commission reported that as many as 561 asymptomatic cases were still under observation.
