“The Rock” Dwayne Scala Johnson buys soccer league!

Dwayne Scala Johnson has paid $ 15 million for XFL, the bankrupt Xtreme Football League.

American actor and former wrestler, “The Rock” Dwayne Scala Johnson became a co-owner of the XFL Professional American Football League.

“The Rock” Dwayne Scala Johnson will share the Xtreme Football League with his ex-wife Dani Garcia and with private investment firm RedBird Capital Partners. The deal has a value of US $15 million.

Jeffrey Pollack, XFL President said:

“I couldn’t imagine a better result for the XFL. Dani, Dwayne and Jerry [Cardinale, boss of RedBird Capital] are the best possible group of owners to lead the entire organization forward. Their combined track record in entertainment, media and sports is breathtaking. I think there will be something very special for our fans, players, coaches and partners. ”

XFL was created in 2001 by businessman Vince McMahon. His primary idea was to form a more spectacular and tougher version of the National Football League (NFL). However, it has not been possible to achieve payback over all these years.

In 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the league was forced to announce the early end of the season, in connection with which the organization’s management faced financial problems.

During his student years, “The Rock” Dwayne Scala Johnson played American football. After graduation, he signed a three-year contract with the Calgary Stampeders team from the Canadian Football League, but after playing the entire season, he suffered a back injury, as a result of which the future actor was forced to end his career as a professional athlete.

For the 48-year-old former wrestler, whose income in 2019 Forbes estimated at € 90 million, this was not a big problem. “The Rock” Dwayne Scala Johnson has been the number one highest paid actor in the past few years and owns a variety of luxury homes, luxury cars and private jets.
