The Grand High Witch Anne Hathaway!
Without a doubt, one of the most iconic characters in The Witches of 1990, was the queen of the coven, played by Oscar winner Anjelica Huston.
With the return of the classic film, fans were surprised to learn that Anne Hathaway would be behind the enigmatic character of The Grand High Witch, in the remake that arrived on the HBO Max platform this October 22.
After the first images of Anne Hathaway as the aristocrat and evil Eva Ernst were released, Internet users began to compare her appearance with that of Anjelica Huston, highlighting that Hathaway’s appearance lacked the dark elements that the character of Huston had, although she retained the elegance of The Grand High Witch.
Unlike the character of Anjelica Huston, who removed a kind of mask when she became the queen of the witches, Anne Hathaway had to go through a more complicated process for just over an hour, to get into the role of Eva Ernst.
The actress shared a video on Instagram, in which she observes the different makeup techniques that were applied to turn her into the witch. In addition to several layers of different materials, the actress also had to undergo a make-up process that consists of using sculpting, molding and plaster techniques, that made her The Grand High Witch.
