Iranian leaders not bothered about Coronavirus?
In mid April 2020, as the number of COVID-19 cases started to decline in Iran, the country started to relax all its restrictions. This proved to be disastrous for Iran, as since June 2020, the death toll in the country has been on the rise.
Since mid June 2020, Iran has been seeing more than 100 people dead each day, because of Coronavirus. And on July 9, 2020, it was reported that 221 people had died in a single day in Iran, because of the Coronavirus disease.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, criticized Iranian officials who do not wear masks at meetings or in public, saying that such behavior set a bad example for the public.
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Tweeted:
“I definitely wear a mask in meetings, but I see that some of the officials are not using masks. When you are one of the officials and you don’t wear a mask in assemblies or in the public, this negativity affects people’s behavior. They become encouraged to not wear masks either.”
But do the leaders of Iran care about the welfare of their people? Do they care whether they live or die because of the Coronavirus pandemic?
There are now around 255,200 cases and 12,650 deaths in Iran, because of the killer Coronavirus.
