Fresh Coronavirus cases reported in Beijing!
It has been reported that parts of Beijing are now under lockdown as new cases of the Novel Coronavirus have been found there.
A fresh Coronavirus cluster has been reported to have been found in Beijing. So far, 7 of these Coronavirus cases are linked to the Xinfadi meat market. Officials stated that 6 of these cases were confirmed on Saturday.
Nine kindergartens and schools located nearby, have been closed.
In south Beijing’s Fengtai district, in 11 residential estates, people were not allowed to leave their homes, after most of the new COVID-19 cases, were reported to have been linked to a nearby meat market.
Out of the 6 new domestic Coronavirus cases that were announced to have been found, three were market workers of Xinfadi, two were employees at the China Meat Research Centre which was seven kilometres (four miles) away and one was a market visitor.
On Friday, authorities shut down the market, as well as another seafood market which had been visited by one of the patients, for the purpose of sample collection and disinfection.
The Xinfadi meat wholesale market Chairman said that the Coronavirus was detected on chopping boards that had been made use of to handle imported salmon.
Mass testing was done of hundreds of people who worked at the market and this uncovered 45 more asymptomatic cases.
