Donald Trump’s Shifting Stances On Coronavirus

Here are US President Donald Trump’s shifting stances on Coronavirus, right from the outbreak of the virus in Wuhan, China:

  • January 30, 2020:“We think we have it very well under control.”
  • February 2, 2020: “We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.”
  • February 14, 2020: “You know, in April, supposedly, it dies with the hotter weather. When it gets warm, historically, that has been able to kill the virus.”
  • February 19, 2020: “I think the numbers are going to get progressively better as we go along.”
  • February 28, 2020: “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear and you’ll be fine.”
  • March 6, 2020: “We’re talking about very small numbers in the United States. Our numbers are lower than just about anybody’s.”
  • March 10, 2020: “It will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.”
  • March 17, 2020: “This is a pandemic. I’ve felt it was a pandemic long before it was called a pandemic. All you had to do is look at other countries.”
  • April 16, 2020: “The data suggests that nationwide, we have passed the peak of new cases. Hopefully that will continue, and we will continue to make great progress.”
  • April 25, 2020: “So supposing we hit the body with a tremendous – whether it’s ultraviolet or just a very powerful light – and I think you said that hasn’t been checked because of the testing.”
  • April 25, 2020:”I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that… It sounds interesting to me.”
