Coronavirus and riots tearing apart USA!
On May 26, 2020, after 46-year-old black man George Floyd, was killed by white police officer Derek Chauvin, in Minneapolis, USA, protests and rioting broke out all over America.
Darrell Scott, New Spirit Revival Center senior pastor said:
“An absence of police presence could potentially give rise to acts of domestic terrorism, mob rule, neighborhood intimidation and oppression, and vigilante-ism.”
The rioting in America, amidst the Coronavirus outbreak, has made the situation all over the US so bad, that on June 3, 2020, the President of America, Donald Trump threatened to send the military to deal with the situation, saying:
“If a city or state refuses to take the actions necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them.”
As on June 8, 2020, a minimum of 22 people have died in America, in the rioting and protests over the killing of George Floyd, 19 of these deaths have been attributed to gunshot wounds.
Angela Underwood-Jacobs, the sister of federal officer Dave Patrick Underwood, who was killed just outside a courthouse in Oakland, California, said:
“I want America to make a change. I want you as our representatives in Congress to make a change so that no one ever has to wake up to the phone call that I received telling me that my brother was shot dead and murdered. How my brother died was wrong and I am praying that we learn something about how he lived.”
Coronavirus has already hit America badly and now all these riots and pretests are causing even more damage to the country. They have now aggravated the 2020 Coronavirus recession in USA.
Philonise Floyd, brother of George Floyd said:
“I’m tired. I’m tired of the pain I’m feeling now and I’m tired of the pain I feel every time another black person is killed for no reason. I’m here today to ask you to make it stop. Stop the pain. Stop us from being tired. George’s calls for help were ignored. Please listen to the call I’m making to you now, to the calls of our family, and to the calls ringing out in the streets across the world.”
