A glimmer of hope seems to be here in the form of a Chinese vaccine which protects monkeys from Coronavirus.
It has been reported that since the first time, since the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus, in Wuhan, China, one of the Coronavirus vaccines which is in the stage of development, has been able to protect the monkey known as rhesus macaques, from being infected by the killer COVID-19.
In Sinovac Biotech, a Beijing-based company, researchers gave 8 rhesus macaques monkeys, 2 different doses of the Coronavirus vaccine. After 3 weeks, the researchers then introduced SARS-CoV-2, which is the virus which is responsible for causing Novel Coronavirus, into the lungs of these monkeys, via their tracheas and none of these 8 monkeys developed a full-blown infection.
Is this the big break that all of mankind has been looking for?
Will this vaccine save the lives of the entire human race from succumbing to the killer Coronavirus?
Time alone will tell!
