“Chinese are the enemy of free people everywhere ab must be stopped they must be banned from the USA. Who knows what other viruses they may bring with them.”

After a few hours of the US indictment, Liu Xiaoming, China’s UK ambassador, rejected the claims, saying that they were “groundless”.

Liu Xiaoming Tweeted:

“Such accusations constitute disrespect for Chinese scientists & their achievements; they could also undermine international cooperation on R&D. The world must strongly oppose and reject such groundless claims.”

The firms that these two Chinese nationals tried to hack into, were also that of defense contractors. The two are also reported to have targeted human rights activists in Hong Kong, America and China, such has been stated by John Demers, Assistant Attorney General.

The US Justice Department stated that Dong and Li were classmates in a Chengdu college and since the past decade they were engaged in a computer hacking campaign. The two have targeted companies in Lithuania, Germany, America, Netherlands, Britain, Australia, Sweden, Japan, Belgium, South Korea and Spain.

The US Justice Department said:

“Targeted industries included, among others, high tech manufacturing; medical device, civil, and industrial engineering; business, educational, and gaming software; solar energy; pharmaceuticals; defence. More recently, the defendants probed for vulnerabilities in computer networks of companies developing Covid-19 vaccines, testing technology, and treatments.”

Dong and Li, in some cases, acted “for their own personal gain”. And in other cases, they acted to serve the interests of China’s Ministry of State Security.

“Lock them up and who whoever else they were working with”

It is believed that Dong Jiazhi and Li Xiaoyu are now in China.

John Demers said:

“China has now taken its place, alongside Russia, Iran, and North Korea, in that shameful club of nations that provide a safe haven for cyber criminals.”

It cannot be forgotten that there are now about 620,000 people dead and over 15 million people infected, because of the killer Coronavirus, which started in Wuhan, China.
