And now – ‘Coronavirus toes’! This seems to be a new symptom of the killer Novel Coronavirus and it is seen mostly in children.
Infectious disease experts appear to be baffled at the presence of blue or purple colored lesions on feet and toes of patients.
Dr. Ebbing Lautenbach, Chief of Infectious Disease (University of Pennsylvania’s School of Medicine) said:
“They’re typically painful to touch and could have a hot burning sensation.”
‘COVID-19 Toes’ appear in those Coronavirus patients, who do not appear to exhibit any other symptoms.
In some people, ‘COVID-19 Toes’ can disappear within 7 to 10 days, but in others, it can progress to respiratory symptoms.
This new symptom seems to appear more in kids and young adults, rather than in people of other age groups.
